Blizzards, gale force winds and torrential rain swept across Northern Ireland overnight, felling power lines and causing transport havoc.
Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) said that nearly 50,000 customers, mainly in the west and the north, suffered power failures overnight after widespread damage to its network.
This storm has left many workers unable to make it to work today. One of the main bus routes the 212 from Derry to Belfast has halted their service and many motorists were left stranded.
So what are the consequences for business owners who need to access their accounts today and have been unable to get to the office? Are they now wishing that they had online access to their accounts so that they can view their cash flow or their aged debtors report? Maybe they need access to their Profit & Loss Account. Well for those businesses that use Fusion’s online accounting software they are unaffected by the storm. Businesses users can still access their data wherever they happen to be.
When making decisions on accounting software do people consider weather conditions? The answer is probably ‘no’. However for those affected it may be something they consider in the future.
